DPA or GDPR?
We are still very happy to provide training focused on the requirements of the Data Protection Act, but we strongly recommend a focus on the General Data Protection Regulation as it will be enforced from May 2018.
Computer Law Training offer a range of training opportunities relating to best practice and compliance in data protection law and information security. Our courses can be tailored to include generic or bespoke training sessions for decision makers or front line staff, or more general awareness raising for all staff where appropriate.
These take the format of a one, two or three hour session or a full day. Courses can be delivered in-house, at our premises in Livingston or in a variety of venues throughout Scotland. Our venue in Livingston is located next to Livingston North Station and is easily accessible from Edinburgh, Glasgow and the rest of Central Scotland.
Courses can also be delivered interactively online – just like being in a training venue, but at your desk. Get in touch to find out more.
Training hours can be accredited as CPD for professional bodies whose members are required to accrue a stipulated number during the year. All courses have clear learning outcomes and, if required, we issue attendance certificates to meet the requirements of ‘verifiable CPD’. Carrying out CPD online can be very cost and time-effective.
If you or your staff have not had data protection training recently get in touch now. When the ICO takes enforcement action against an organisation it invariably criticises them for lack of data protection taining and requires that staff undertake this. Pre-empting this situation is likely to reduce the seriousness of any enforcement.
